Our coffee story
Eastern Blends works directly with coffee farmers across Uganda's growing regions, from cherry to shipment. Uganda is one of Africa's leading coffee producers, growing both Robusta — native to the country — and highland Arabica.
Every batch is hand-picked at peak ripeness, pulped and processed close to the farm, then dried and graded before export — keeping quality consistent from lot to lot.
Every lot passes through the same careful stages before it's ready to ship.
Ripe red cherries are hand-picked by our farming partners, selected individually for ripeness.
Cherries are pulped soon after picking to remove the outer skin and separate the beans.
Beans are fermented to break down the mucilage layer, then washed clean.
Sun-dried, hulled, graded and bagged for shipment, traceable back to the farm.
Uganda grows both of the world's major coffee species — we trade both.
Grown at higher altitudes on the Bugisu highlands, prized for its smoother, more nuanced flavour with brighter acidity. Offered in grades AA, A and B.
Uganda is one of the birthplaces of wild Robusta. Fuller-bodied and higher in caffeine, offered in screen sizes 12, 15 and 18.
Uganda's coffee belt spans several distinct growing regions — each with its own altitude and character.
Eastern Uganda's high-altitude Arabica region, on the slopes of Mount Elgon.
Western Uganda's washed Arabica region, high altitude with a distinct flavour profile.

Our cacao storyEvery bean carries the story of the land it grew on — we make sure that story doesn't get lost.
Eastern Blends works directly with smallholder farmers across Uganda's most fertile growing regions — handling sourcing, quality control and export logistics from the first pod on the tree to the container leaving port.
We believe good cocoa starts with good relationships. Every farmer in our network is paid fairly and trained to the same standard, so buyers get consistency batch after batch, not a one-off lucky bag.
A cocoa bean passes through several hands before it's ready for export — we oversee every one of them.
Ripe pods are hand-picked by our farming partners across Kampala, Mbale and the Elgon region, timed to peak ripeness for the best flavour development.
Beans are fermented under controlled conditions to develop the rich colour, aroma and flavour precursors chocolate makers depend on.
Sun-dried and hand-sorted to remove defects, foreign matter and under-fermented beans before grading.
Beans are bagged, documented and shipped to buyers worldwide, with full traceability back to the sourcing region.
As a dedicated cocoa bean trading company, we offer beans across processing stages to suit your production needs.

Hand-pollinated vines, carefully harvested and cured over months to develop the rich aroma vanilla is known for — sourced direct from Uganda.
Our vanilla story
Eastern Blends sources Bourbon vanilla from farming communities across Uganda's central and western growing areas. Unlike most crops, vanilla orchids have no natural pollinators outside their native Mexico — every flower is hand-pollinated by our farming partners, one bloom at a time.
From there, the real work begins: months of careful curing turn flavourless green pods into the dark, fragrant beans the world knows as vanilla.
Vanilla takes longer than almost any other crop — here's why.
Each vanilla flower blooms for a single day and is hand-pollinated by our farmers during that window.
Green pods are picked at the right maturity, roughly nine months after pollination.
Pods are blanched, sweated and sun-dried in cycles over several weeks to develop flavour and colour.
Cured beans are conditioned for months, graded, bundled and packed for export.
Cured vanilla is sorted by moisture content, length and appearance.
Long, supple, well-cured pods with higher moisture content — the whole beans used for extract-making, baking and premium retail. Vacuum-sealed for export.
Drier pods, often slightly shorter or split — still rich in flavour, commonly used for commercial extract production. Vacuum-sealed for export.
Vanilla is grown across a handful of favourable microclimates in Uganda.
Western Uganda, at the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains — one of the country's established vanilla-growing districts.
Central Uganda, close to Kampala — a key vanilla-growing and trading area.
Central Uganda, along the Nile — another significant vanilla-farming district.
